I'm Going Home 7-11-08

I can feel the butterflies in my stomach. My heart beats so fast. I feel cold.

After 1 year, 1 month and 14 days working in Cambodia I can finally go home for a vacation. Today is my big day. The past 1 year, 1 month and 14 days being away from my family was a great learning experience. I had never been away from them this long. At my age, it was still painful to be away from them. Homesickness almost made me insane. The pressure at work was also a major reason that I almost give up this job. But as God sent his angels, I was very fortunate to be surrounded by matured and caring people. My colleagues at work are my family. They kept on boosting my spirit. They kept on reminding me to be thankful of what I have. They help me to gained more confidence for me to able to perform my job. For the past 1 year, 1 month and 14 days, they were the shoulders I can lean on, they are the people who made me laugh, they were my teachers and and the best of all they were my family.

Thank you God for letting me experience this life. Thank you for letting me realize how fortunate I am. I will continue to pray for your blessing that I will be able to return to you all you have given me. Please Lord bless me with wisdom that I will fairly judge the reality of life. Please bless me with patience that I will live harmoniously with my neighbor. Please Lord bless me with faith that I will continue to live accordingly to your will and purpose.

OFW - Travel Exit Clearance

I received below email from Philippine Embassy here in Phnom Penh. I decided to post it in here as this new procedure or an alternative in acquiring Travel Exit Clearance will be a big help especially to those OFW who resides in the provinces.

ANNOUNCEMENT

Re: Online Application for Travel Exit Clearance for Balik Manggagawa or Workers-on-Leave (OFWs Vacationing in the Philippines)

The Philippine Overseas Employment Administration (POEA) has a new on-line application process for the issuance of the POEA travel exit clearance for Balik-Manggawa or Workers-on-Leave (BM/WOL).

Previously, BM/WOLs would have to proceed to the POEA office to apply for their exit clearance. With this online application system, the BM/WOL can avail of the 2-way delivery system through the Internet and have the clearance delivered back to their residence in the Philippines. There will be no need to go to the POEA. Since the application is online, this can be done virtually anywhere there is an internet connection. This gives OFWs more time to spend with family and friends while vacationing in the Philippines.

To apply, simply log on to www.oecdelivery.com.ph and follow the instructions as detailed in the website. The service is available in the Philippines nationwide.

For more information, visit the POEA website at www.poea.gov.ph.
